A profile of the Group
China Railway 13th Bureau Group is an enterprise directly under central management, formerly Division No.3 of the PLA Railway Corps established in August 1948, reorganized from railway corps into The 13th Bureau Group.
The Group has 57 construction qualifications in 25 engineering classifications, including special class qualification for railway construction overall contracting qualification, class 1 construction qualification in 37 engineering classifications such as highway, municipal engineering, building construction, hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering, mining, bridge engineering, tunneling, airport engineering, urban rail, hydraulic tunneling etc and other 18 engineering qualifications. The Group has qualification in contracting overseas engineering and domestic internation-ally-tendered engineering. The Group participated in over 50 railway projects such as Dalian-Qinhuangdao Railway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Nei-Kun Railway, Yu-Huai Railway and Qinghai-Tibet Railway, participated in over 60 expressway projects such as Shenyang-Dalian Expressway, Shi-Zhong Expressway, Guangzhou-Chengdu Expressway, Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway, and participated in construction of many super-huge bridges and long-huge tunnels, hydraulic and hydroelectric projects, industrial and civilian architecture, mine, steel structure and municipal engineering projects.
The Group has 9 branch companies and subsidiary companies, and set up bases in Changchun, Dalian, Shenzhen, Panjin, Harbin, Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang, Yinchuan, Chengdu, and business offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Xi'an, Kunming, Lanzhou. The Group has 14000 staff, including over 5000 technical staff, in which 2000 technical staff have Intermediate Technical Title, 500 technical staff have Senior Technical Title. Total assets of the Group amounts up to 4 billion RMB, with yearly yield over 10 billion RMB. The Group has over 3000 sets of advanced construction plants or equipment, construction mechanization rate of the Group exceeds 85%. The Group has construction experience in all over 31 provinces/autonomous regions and ever in overseas market. The Group ranks 24 in nationwide 500 large construction enterprises, the Group ranks 13 in one hundred top comprehensive business enterprises of nationwide construction sector. The Group has been elected "Excellent Enterprise of Construction Sector" and "Advanced Enterprise of Spiritual Civilization Construction" by Jilin province and Changchun city for many times. In year 2004, the Group was elected "Attach Importance to The Contract and Keeping Reputation Unit". In year 1998, the Group passed ISO 9002 international quality certification system. In March 2004, the Group obtained management certification system of national environment and vocational health safety.
In recent years, the Group continuously makes progress in construction technology. The Group has accumulated rich experience in lots of construction domains such as new-style large span bridge, long-huge tunnel, deep water bridge foundation, high-rise, underground engineering and earthwork/stone blasting. The Group has acquired a leading technological and research outcome in highly difficult construction regime such as deepwater intake, underwater tunnel, wind-blown sand tunnel, multiple-point jacking of continuous box girder, movable support brace bridge building technique, suspension grouting bridge construction. The group has awarded 8 state excellent construction prizes, including 5 Luban Prizes, 1 Zhantianyou Prize and 1 state excellent municipal engineering gold cup prize; the Group has awarded over 30 provincial or city-level excellent construction prizes. The Group obtains 3 national technology and research achievements, 12 provincial or government department national technology and research achievements, the Group has filled in over 20 national technology gaps.
